The client is a state government agency in one of the states in the USA. The agency operates a state-wide financial system to enable the state to perform budgeting, procurement, cash management, and accounting functions transparently and efficiently, thus eliminating the need for hundreds of independent legacy systems. 

Challenges

To meet its analytical reporting needs in a manner that would reduce traditional dependence on IT, the client had embarked upon a Business Intelligence (BI) initiative. For this, the client had licensed Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) as its platform of choice for analytics and was looking for partners to leverage this platform and provide key analytics. 

Solution

DiLytics partnered with the client to leverage OBIEE and deliver analytics reports and dashboards on procurement and expense data. DiLytics carried out: 

  • Extensive planning and analysis of data conversion and reporting requirements.
  • Customized data warehouse to extract and store data from various sources.
  • Designed and developed Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) customizations in OBIA applications to enhance the load plans, resolve errors, and execute the load plans appropriately.
  • Designed and developed customizations to modify and enhance OBIA interfaces.
  • Developed OBIEE customizations for additional data and redesigned the dashboards.
  • Customized physical, logical, and presentation layers of OBIEE to reflect the data warehouse customizations.
  • Added Data level security filters in RPD based on the business unit.
