The client is a state government agency in one of the states in the USA. The agency operates a state-wide financial system to enable the state to perform budgeting, procurement, cash management, and accounting functions transparently and efficiently, thus eliminating the need for hundreds of independent legacy systems.

The Challenge

The client required Subject Matter Experts in the areas of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Microsoft’s Power BI and Hyperion systems. SMEs were needed to support the design, development, implementation and maintenance of an enhanced business intelligence (BI) solution. The main challenge was to transfer Data from FI$Cal PeopleSoft and Hyperion applications to Oracle Data Warehouse and Azure Synapse Analytics platforms using data integration tools like Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle Golden Gate (OGG), Azure Data Factory (ADF). 

Solution

DiLytics provided day-to-day support and enhancement services which included:

  • Capturing and reviewing reporting requirements and determining implementation options.
  • Planning the tasks for enhancing the BI solution using the recommended option and communicating with all stakeholders.

  • Troubleshooting performance issues and tuning queries.
  • Implementing load plans and schedules to support Incremental/Full loads.
  • Designing and developing semantic models, dashboards, interactive visualizations, paginated reports, and self-service analytics solutions on OBIEE and/or Power BI platforms.
  • Updating OBIEE data warehouse to analyze current inventory costs.
  • Mentoring development staff on the BI solution
