The client is a biopharmaceutical company involved in the Research and Development of novel products for the treatment of rare and ultra-rare genetic diseases for which there are typically no approved treatments and high unmet medical needs.

Background

The client was generating reports related to inventory management and supply chain in Microsoft Excel which was not only time-consuming, inflexible, and visually unappealing but also did not cover all reporting scenarios needed by the client.

  • Document business requirements for analytical reports
  • Extract, transform, and load data from different source systems
  • Apply filter, split, group by, merge, and conditional column transformations
  • Design and develop datasets using star and Snowflake data modeling strategies
  • Implement Dimension Hierarchies, Measures, Aggregation Rules, and Time Series functionalities
  • Create reports, prompts, and custom visuals on the Power BI desktop to meet business requirements.
  • Develop complex calculated measures using (DAX) Data Analysis Xpression language
  • Publish Power BI reports and dashboards on Power BI Web covering the following:
    Demand Forecast
    – Inventory and Shipments
    – Supplier Ratings
