Background

The client had implemented Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Services (BICS) in the year 2016 to analyze sales and inventory data. In the year 2020, the client decided to move to a new version of Oracle, called Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC). The client engaged Oracle Corporation’s services to carry out the migration. In addition, the client wanted a 3rd party to verify the migration work carried out by Oracle Corporation. 

 

Solution

DiLytics carried out the verification of migration by covering the following areas: 

  • Reports, Dashboards, and Metadata Migration
    – Verify that each required report, data warehouse, metric and attribute has been moved from BICS to OAC
    – Migrate any missing object in OAC from BICS
  • Data warehouse Migration
    – Verify that each required Fact table, Dimension table, Aggregate, and Snapshot table, has been moved from Oracle Database Cloud Service (DBCS) to ADW
    – Migrate any missing tables in ADW from DBCS
  • Data Integration Migration
    – Verify that each required Project, Subject Area, and Task has been moved to a new version of Data Sync
    – Migrate any missing object in the new version of Data Sync
