BI Support and Enhancements Led to Improved Efficiencies in Material Management Function 

The client is an executive department in one of the states in the USA. It manages more than 50,000 miles of highway and freeway lanes, provides intercity rail services, permits more than 400 public-use airports and special-use hospital heliports, and works with local agencies.

Background

The client used an internally developed application called Integrated Maintenance Management System (IMMS) for field staff. They extended the application to manage supply inventory, orders, workflow, cost tracking, and sourcing. They wanted to enhance the data warehouse and reporting application for real-time reports, integrate new IMMS modules, and add analytics. The client needed a vendor to provide day-to-day support for the OBIEE application and implement changes to existing reports and new data models to support the added functionality in IMMS.

The client extended this application to additionally manage supply inventory, orders, workflow, cost tracking, and sourcing. In conjunction with this, the client intended to enhance the existing data warehouse and Oracle Analytics reporting application to provide additional real-time reports, integrate new IMMS modules into the data warehouse, develop an architectural design for the new modules, and add analytics to support the related reporting needs.

Hence, the client was looking for a vendor to provide day-to-day support for the Oracle Analytics application and implement changes to existing reports, new data models, new extract-load-and-transform (ELT) processes and new reports to support the added functionality in the IMMS application.
