DiLytics Proprietary Finance and Procurement Analytics Solution Drives Operational Efficiencies

The client promotes and delivers quality, well-managed homes to diverse low-income populations. It became an independent city agency in 1991. Since then, it has implemented many initiatives to improve housing quality, preservation, and choices for a diverse population. 

 

Background

The client had purchased licenses for Oracle Discoverer for meeting its analytical reporting needs. However, it could not leverage these licenses due to heavy dependence on the IT team which had severe bandwidth constraints.

So, the client developed custom reports in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). However, when it upgraded Oracle EBS from 11i to R12, it lost those custom reports.

In order to get its analytical reports, the client started looking for alternative BI tools in the market. However, it found them to be expensive from a license as well as implementation costs perspective. DiLytics positioned its proprietary solution which met the client’s needs.  

Solution

DiLytics implemented its solution, built on the Oracle Analytics Cloud platform in a time frame of 6 weeks. This included:  

  • Configuring the Financial and Procurement Insight solution and extending the solution’s functionality to deliver on the client’s analytics needs
  • Rolling out Insight data model and dashboard catalog
  • Deploying pre-built data warehouse on Oracle Cloud database
  • Connecting to client’s Oracle EBS instance and loading data into cloud database; scheduling nightly data load refresh
  • Verifying reports and validating data in the dashboards
  • Training client Finance and Procurement users on Insight solution
  • Conducting UAT and resolving issues
